Can anybody offer a suggestion for replacing my cracked, stock exhaust header - TJ '99 4.0L - If I wasn't going to keep it I would just grind out and re-weld the small crack -

thanks guy's for your feedback, but I stopped by and talked with the mechanic this afternoon (my wife picked the jeep up yesterday) and after talking with him he corrected himself to state that in fact I have 3.73 stock rear end. No issues.

The machanic had popped the dif cover off to replace the seal - he said the gear(s) had the stamping on it inside.

Thank's for the replies. Good to know others have the same numbers. I know MPG shouldn't keep Jeep owners up at night, I've just been wondering if this change I noticed was an indication of a performance issue - maybe, as mentioned once, - it might be the winter gas or additives they put in...

Thank's for the feedback, the 3.83 I found on a web site with jeep specs. I recently gave my brick a tune up plugs, wires, dist. cap, cleaned the K&N, drive it nice etc. I guess it's good as it's going to get. I thought about changing the O2 sensors

From what I've read, I have 3.83 gear ratio on my '99 4.0L. In the event my 31" tires are contributing to my questionable MPG, would going to 3.72 make a big difference?? Is it $$/difficult/possible??

The jeep is '99 with 135000 km's, I've had it since 100000k's - I assume that they are original. Are these sensors something I can check/replace? What's a CEL?
