What did you do to your Jeep today?

I basically started the title replacement process... Since my pops lost it, and we think my grandfather shredded it when he lost his marbles and was staying with him. Sooooo that's fun! lol

title replacement is easy here. how does it work where you are?

we just go down to city hall and tell them we need a replacement title. show our id and pay 7 or 15 bucks and they print a new out and give it to you

Ohio is electronic. Unless you pay to print it. Then its paper and not electronic anymore.

I got tired of the ratty look of my inside tailgate. I bought a Bedrug liner and velcro-ed it on. I think it looks pretty sharp.

Hey! Good to hear you had backup bulbs! You know how it is off-road—one can blow at the worst time. Always worth having spares, especially in a Jeep! I keep spare lights and tools in my trunk; you never know.

By the way, what bulbs are you using? It’s worth testing different ones to see which perform best in tough conditions!

Well I had intended to change the upper Axle bushings, but all I ended up doing was mangling them. I'll hit up the parts store tomorrow for a press.

Wish me luck

It took quite a bit of work but I was finally able to press out the bushing with a ball joint press. Definitely not a job I want to do again.

Did you put metalcloak in??

No, I put some Moog rubber bushing in that I had bought some time ago.
I didn't know that Metalcloak make upgraded bushings, they look good, But I'm not sure I'd trust my welding skills just yet. I saw some Iron Rock bushings that are press in, but didn't want my Jeep down while I waited on shipping.

I can definitely feel the difference. That 19 year old bushing was worn out.

The Metalcloak are rebuildable. Understood on welding skills. I don’t do it myself.

I finally got back out on the trail. Went with some buddies to Peters Mill Run up in Northern Virginia.

We had a great time and I put in for the badge through the " Jeep badge of honor" app.

We drove 1100 miles from corpua christi texas to omaha nebraska to have thanksgiving with my oldest son. Jeep got 19mpg for the up leg doing an average of 80mph.

Its cold up there. The high was the day we got there, 46. Everyday after that, the high was 32ish. The mornings were 11 degrees and less. When we cam home, it was 7 degrees. Thats horrible. It sucked to out gas in the jeep that morning.

The return leg we got 22mpg for the 1100 mile trip. We actually got 24mpg from dallas to san antonio because we were able to draft at 90mph.

Anyways, the soft top was perfectly warm the whole trip. We didnt try to open the back window though, it was pretty stiff.

That is great mpg for that speed. In my 05 unlimited i found 63-67 ish gave the best mpg.
