Thats pretty common for what they look around here. Gotta love salt. my 1978 was about that far gone in the front. It was rusted in half for the most part. I put it back together with replacement panels from Jcwhitney, got it running half way decent, for about $1500

That is what I thought at first. And Ive been under it three times, but there is no skid plate on the tank. It's all confusing to me....

I forgot to mention it has the inline 6 for the engine.

I'm looking to replace my smashed up gas tank that came on my CJ5. I've been underneith the thing multiple times now, and it appears that thing is bolted in the back two corners, and there is one bolt centered in the front. Every place i've found that stocks the tank says something about...

Hey Ray, Nice looking jeep. What going wrong with it? I wouldn't get rid of it, it's not very often one that clean is around anymore. But post up whats wrong, and someone here will be able to point you in the right direction to get it fixed.

I dont know if your lifted or not. But a lot of offroad lift kits for Xj's. I got a 3 inch lift from Rustys offroad that came with new front springs. They ride better then stock.
