    Too Bouncy for beginners

Does it ride better when loaded down with weight? If you put a winch on the front, & something heavy in the back & it rides perfectly then you'll have a winch & the ability to tote large amounts of tools & spare parts when wheeling! Plus you can add goodies like a full cage & bumpers & a tire...

    Yj vs Tj

As a dedicated YJ man, I just have to say something here! It's true, CJ's are pretty damn classy!:shades:

    winching

I'm just glad nobody came up that road, while you had your cable stretched across it! Coulda been ugly if they had & were moving at a good clip.

pro's and cons of 16" wheels

From what I've read, (Quite a bit) either the 16.5" or the 16" rims have a lower bead lip that allows aired down tires to loose the seal rather easily. I run 15" rims now, but when I go to some D-60 axles I'ma get some 17" rims. These are like the 15' rims & have a better (taller) bead seal lip.

Just saw a show the other night about some kid who got bit. His dad had to fly into Mexico & smuggle the antidote back into the U.S. Kid said the pain was unimaginable, & he would have had permanent nerve damage if left untreated for just one more day. Sorry, but my kids have their bikes in...

    I'm a dad now

Congrats, kids are the best thing that ever happened to me. And it happened four times! My youngest turns 15 on Saturday. Cherish every moment you get, time will go by at a blinding rate now. Might not seem like it right away, but time really does fly & before you know it you'll be handing...

    Difficulty shifting into reverse

Shift to 4th gear, then right into reverse. If you do it quickly without grinding, it should go right in every time.

    Loose Timing chain

Not to hijack this thread, but mine is loose too. Anyone know if drive gears such as Pete Jackson's are available for a 4.2L?

Nice new username! Avatar is sweet too. Sorry I had to kill one of your relatives in my shed a few months back, along with her freshly made bundle of joy. Couldn't have the kids going in to get their bikes & get involved with that nightmare. Sooooo whatever happened to that significant other...

    This has to be STOPPED!!!

There's another jeep pic floating around the web, that has Christmas lights all over it. Another one has a bunch of yard gnomes & smurfs glued all over it. A zillion bumper stickers too! WTF is wrong with these people??? Do they live too close to a Nuclear plant ??

    coolant leak

X2 on the weep hole, jeep water pumps have a hidden weep hole for the inner bearing seal. Mine drove me nuts looking for it. coolant was running down the lower radiator hose & dripping on the ground. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

    Question about CHROME

Sand blasting will take the chrome off as well as the annodizing. Bead blasting might not take off the chrome. That tire has seen better days. Maybe as the lead guitarist for G&R.

    cj5 steering wheel

I liked it too, as I tend to do things the same way myself! Funny how unclebill was seemingly unaware of how redneck his idea is.

    cj5 steering wheel

I think you need one of those big three clawed ones that can reach through the spokes & grab the back side of the wheel's hub. Prolly can rent one from the big box parts store. Advance auto gives all the $$$ back when you are finished borrowing tools. I had bookmarked a link showing how someone...
