Anytime the words "head gasket" get mentioned, I get concerned about the engine..that's all. I really hope you get your Jeep fixed, though...I'm a fan of all Jeeps, but a have a special interest for the older ones.

Thanks for the welcome everyone :-) I just took it to my local mechanic, so it wasn't actually a specialty brake service shop...I don't know if he would guarantee his work, but he should! I wished that I could do brake work on my own and NOT have to go to a shop! Ugh, oh well..I do what I can.

Mall crawler?! Come on, lol - I was actually AT the mall, not cruising! Anyhow,thanks for the troubleshooting tips, I am planning on troubleshooting my XJ tomorrow and will look for all of that stuff. It's just so disappointing to have just had all that brake work done and then it's acting...

Thank you for the suggestion...do you think my current wiring will do the trick then, after I clean up the connection points? Also, does anyone know if a lower wattage bulb - like a 55w/60w bulb would work better than the 90w/100w with my original wiring?

The pedal pressure is good, thankfully...no vibrations or pushing it to the floor. I checked my brake fluid this evening, though, and some of it was cloudy in the resevoir...

I was installing a set of unsealed beams and StreetGlow H4 90w/100w bulbs this afternoon and have had nothing but problems with it. (NOTE-I purchased them used from a friend and he said the bulbs are fine). I've replaced the sealed beam headlights in my 88 XJ many times before, but the unsealed...
