1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ 2.5l 4x4 Help!

Hi Guys,

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5l and I am having trouble with my 4x4... When I engage the 4x4, the front wheels don't engage. When I look under the car, I can see the front drive shaft turning, but the front wheels aren't engaged. One thing I also noticed is that the 4x4 indicator light on the dash doesn't turn on as well. Any suggestions?

If you have the vac activated front axle, sounds like the actuator went out. I think they are around 60, 70 bucks and I think your local auto store will have it. My brother had to replace his a few years back. If its not the vac operated axle I don,t know but am others will... good luck

Turns out it is the Vac actuator. I see there are several ways to fix this. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to fix this without having it fail again?

just replace all the lines with small rubber lines. and the tcase switch is in the self help isle at the local parts place

Do away with the vacume set up all togeather and get the 4x4 posi loc cable,Quadratec sells them.
