2005 Tj Has idleing problem.

My 2005 TJ was in a wreck in may. The jeep was hit on passanger side. My step bar took most of the hit. My problem is now i'm having trouble with the idle return sometime not all the time. The idle changes. Also when you hit the gas and let up on it the jeep acts like it wants to die but the stall switch catches it. Runs Rough too. Need your Help.

Clean your IAC and check your vacuum lines for leaks, cracks or missing parts.

Does the check engine light activate when its running poorly?

No, The engine light does not come on when it runs poorly. This just started a week ago. But the tj has been running rough and useing more fuel. The idle varies at times. Thank you for taking the time to help.

You could have a slow O2 sensor. If cleaning the IAC doesn't do it check the O2 sensors.

Not sure if you have found your problem, but is does sound like a vacuum issue. The reason I say that is you stated it is using more fuel. Check all vacuum hoses and the IAC. You could also have a leaking injector.
