does anyone have this setup on their 258?. I was wondering if it was any good. Would you have to set up the carb to run lean due to the extra gas being dumped in just to get it to run correctly. I've also been told that it's a waste of $$$ to do it unless you port and pollish the head[addsig]

Generaly speaking, the larger the carb, the better the top end, with a loss in low end grunt and often bogging the motor down from idle to about 1500/2000 RPM. With larger tires and such you loose power just where you need it. Personally I´d use the money for a injection system of one sort or another, more horses and better torque. Multi carb setups work better, but are expensive and hard to tune. Seen a home made setup with three Weber side drafts, borrowed from a Jaguar, from an old in line six, that made a bunch of horses with a mild cam (272).[addsig]
