I Have an 87 yj with a 400 chevy small block and also a different transmission, I need a new clutch and a new bell housing but I'm not sure how to find the one I need

Chevu small block is a pretty common pattern. Take a pic of thw trans from tue bottom and as much of a side shot as you can and i bet someone can tell you what it is

I have a muncie 465 transmission but not sure what year and not sure how to find out what year it is so i can get the clutch and bell housing I need

Your trany is a very common trany. Chevy and GMC used them in their 1/2, 3/4 ton trucks from the early 70,s through the 80, and probably into the 90,s as well. Your engine was a comon engine in those 70,s trucks as well, so I would look at junk yards for 70,s trucks. I would grab the clutch linkage as well. Almost any standard shift 4x4 chevy or GMC truck of that era will have the 465 in it. I think your clutch will be based on your trany and flywheel, not what bellhousing you have. I think any 70,s or 80,s chevy small block bellhousing will work fine be it a 283, 327, 350 or 400, there all small blocks and should have the same bolt pattern.
