I Can stomp the clutch to the floor and put it in gear and it still moves, is it that my clutch is bad or jus needs to be adjusted? It is also very hard to get in and out of gear, please help I can't afford to door work thy doesn't need to be done

There is no adjustment. Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. Otherwise it's likely the internal clutch slave is shot.

I don't know much about this but my father in law said he adjusted it today and it is a little better now, but I will take your advice, thanks.

I think some could be adjusted and others not (not possitive tho) My friend just went through this with his 94. he replaced the slave cylinder but it turned out to be the resivor under the hood was leaking. replaced that and it was fixed. If the adjustment dont fix it I would say slave cylinder.

Is it possible that it could be the transmission?

It is probably your slave cylinder or your master cylinder. Before I tore into it to replace the slave cylinder, I would do a through inspection of the master cylinder. If it turns out to be your master cylinder, it well be a heck of a lot cheaper and easier to fix then the slave cylinder. I would first inspect the rod that is connected to your clutch pedal and goes through the firewall into your master cylinder. It's possible that the seal on the end of the master cylinder has gone bad.createing the problem.

New problem, the linkage is all mechanical, no master or slave cylinder, so it has to be that the clutch is bad right?

I guess that is the problem, I would try to adjust it again . I had thought that from 87-95 they had the hydraulic clutch with the internal slave cylinder. Maybe some one else will chim e in here after a bit.

I'm thinking that it was converted from hydraulic to mechanical, it has a 400 sb Chevy and also a different transmission that I'm not sure about, so more than likely that was changed too. We went as far as we could as far as adjusting it goes so I'll change the clutch this weekend.

I you have a cable to operate the clutch, the cable could have stretched or is ready to break. I have a chevy engine and trans swap in my jeep and the clutch cable is a issue. I have gone through a few of them. I could adjust it and a few hours later or the next day id have to do it again eventually replacing the cable.

Mines a rod instead of cable, I do have a bushing missing but I kind of fabricated my own, but it's not perfect, do you think that would make that big of a difference

could be. Mine is a cable connected to a adjusting rod and when I adjust mine, i only have to turn the adjuster nut like one or two turns and on a threaded rod like I have thats only about a 16th to mayb a 8th inch. I the bushing you made isnt the exact thickness as the other, it may not be letting the pedal engage far enough. This is just a though but def possible. My cable streched so far once that I cut my adjusting rod and welded a peice to it to lengthend it so I could get more adjustment out of it. seemed to work. I did that because it was obviously a custom set up and I dont think they quite had it right and figured I would have to mess with it to get it right.

Just a small tidbit of information we could have used in the first post LOL.

Sounds like you need a clutch.
