91 jeep cherokee limted xj brake system probs

hey all i bought a 91 jeep cherokee limted xj it was recalled for hydrolic braking pump and somthing else i brung it in and the guy also put a new abs braking module in ,bc the old one was junk, the reason i brought it to get fixed is the braking was hard u had to stomp on the pedal to make it stop, and after all of the things i ot fixed its still the same , so if anyone has a idea or can help me plz do so.

p.s. i got a 4.5 inch skyjacker lift kit i wont to put on it to i cant wait to see it.

Hi,

It sounds as though the Vacuum Brake booster could be bad. Does the brake pedal sink when you start the Jeep? When you shut the Jeep off, how many times can you pump the brake pedal before it becomes very stiff?

Another possibility is you may have air in the hydraulic system, worn down pads, etc... :mrgreen:
