94 yj 4x4 problem.

friend has a 94 yj that will not stay in 4 wheel drive.we have good vac,replaced actuator.pulled diff cover and looks ok. i can pull fork off and slide lock over by hand and it works just fine but when i put back together it doesnt seem to slide over far enough and kicks in and out. any sugg.

Is the collar in the right way. ??

Or the fork bent at all ?

collar seems to be right we have a parts jeep and everything looks the same on it. we took the that whole fork assbly off of it and it still does the same thing.i see what u mean if collar was in wrong it wouldnt matter if ichanged it.it may have been apart before i dont know,he bought this about 6 mnths ago and never worked right.

Is the vacuum tee on the t case in good shape?

yea we even changed the whole vac harn from other jeep. could the linkage adj on t case hav anythg to do w it

If you have a bad mount and it's moving the linkage under torque it could. It never hurts to check the adjustment either
