97 TJ engine cuts

Out of idea's. Could someone tell me why when accelerating and rpms get above 3200-3300 my engine power cuts out but returns if I back of the pedal. Its almost like a governor. I would be thankful for any help.

Check for and fault codes. Also check your fuel pressure. I had the a similar issue and ended up being the fuel pump wearing out. But you can check this by verifying that have the correct fuel pressure. Is at a certain speed or just at those rpm ranges?

Thanx I will check those. It happens around those rpms but its more consistent with how far down I press the pedal. I cant press the pedal all the way down without it happening.

It may also be the TPS (throttle position sensor).

I agree on the tps sensor. Dead spots can happen were the pedal spends the most time.
