the transmission will work, goto www.advancedadapters.com for more information they're a lot of help in these conversions the 700r4 is actually a fairly good transmission to do the swap with for on-road performance[addsig]

Just an opinion, other than the low first gear, the 700 R is junk. I´ve replaced a dozen of them. I´ve still got the original TH 350 running in my 81 1 ton. The 86 has a few improvements, but the best improvement they ever made was discontinuing the model. After 93 they built (for a few years) an overdrive transmission (non-computer controlled) that has a good name. The all time winner is the TH400 (bullet proof).[addsig]

if i was to go with an auto transmission the 700r would be the one.... yes it is not as stout as a th400 but it is also going in a jeep and you are no way near as heavy as a 1 ton truck. not saying that mudderchuck is wrong, the early 700r's did fail a lot....but with a low first gear, and an overdrive this transmission has found it s way in many serious rock crawling jeeps..since you got the motor and trans so cheap. the most expensive thing will be your adapter..good luck and with all that power be nice to your axles.....

you know you could just switch tcases and axles to match all you chevy parts already..
