AFholmz...your clutch

Hey que pasa? Reading the specs on your ride and wondering how you like the centerforce clutch? I've heard mixed opinions on those, yet I know that those are like (insert body part here) everybody has them. Just want to hear something from the horse's mouth. What kind do you have? I've seen three types...something like a 30%, 60%, and a 90% increase in holding power. I suspect my clutch of getting senile...it seems like it keeps on changing its mind on where it wants to release at. Sometimes it is right off the floor...and at other times...it seems "normal." Don't know much about clutch systems, but willing to learn. Any ideas?? Thanks.[addsig]

My jeep isnt quite finished yet, its still tore apart. Well ive got

the clutch and nv4500 in and im still waiting on the atlas 4.3

for some reason. Advance rushes one but sits on the t-case.

The axels are not done yet either. Ive got them torn apart

and just recieve the parts friday. I am using the centerforce

one clutch. The one with 30% more clamping force, cause im

looking for a better feel with the clutch pedal. Im also sticking

with the 10.5" disc because its plenty big to move the jeep around.

The stock clutch that I took out was working fine i felt that i might

as well stick a better one in since ive already spent so much

for the transmission and t-case. The clamping force has a major effect

on how well you can feather the clutch also, however with a

124:1 crawl ratio i dont think ill be doing very much of that.

If your looking to switch your clutch out id say go centerforce one.

The high friction clutches are not the most desirable for offroading

due do it is tough ease them up, i drove a daul friction in a 97 cobra

and it felt like the thing demanded to be dumped. The centerforce

is suppose to take a lot more pounding and hold up better than

stock. i know three people that have them, all sports cars but they

swear by it. Ill get back to you about the on and off roading feel

of the clutch once i get it put together, its lookin about three weeks,

feels like 3 looooooonnnnngggg weeks.[addsig]

All the king's horses and all the king's men...good luck in getting it back together. Keep me posted on performance.[addsig]

luck isnt quite what im shootin for, maybe paid vacation. Yeah

that would do it. And my t-case from advance. But in any case

the thing im really actually wondering about is the spool on the

street. Should make turning a little more lively.[addsig]
