Is there a way to either disconnect the airbags in my 97 tj or take them out all together, when my jeep is done i plan on doing some agressive driving and dont really want the airbags to go off on me is this possible to do??

Ya they will only deploy in a frontal collision over 25 mph. There is certain criteria the module will have to meet to set it down. Seen them jumped and not deployed.
Yes and no. Disabling the airbag by removing the fuse, disables the system but DOES NOT prevent accidental deployment. Although the module has no power or current running throuh the system, it's still vulnerable from static electricity that may travel all throughout the circuit and still deploy the airbags. This is why the squibb circuit on the airbag module connector has a shorting bar that shorts out the circuit when it's disconnected from the clockspring connector. Eventhough, the airbag is still not 100% failsafe from deployment since static electricity can still travel through the housing thats bolted on the steering however, i have never seen or heard of one deploy but it doesnt mean it will never happen. I've seen one deploy on a car when the steering column was being serviced and the tech. had laid the airbag module on top of a plastic bag on the passenger seat, luckily, it was sitting face up and nobody got hurt. The airbag module has a class 3 explosive charge and not to be taken lightly when it comes to safety from an accidental deployment.
