I have a very intermittent problem with an 89 Cherokee. It seems to be getting worse.
When you take off from a stop it acts like a vacuum modulator ( it doesn't want to shift until you let off the gas ) . When it does finally shift it throws itself into neuteral. You have to stop and start over again sometimes it takes a couple of tries. The transmission is an AISIS 40 - 43 LE. I was in the process of taking it out and found all sorts of wiring going to solenoids inside the transmission. My book does not show this wiring. I am beginning to wonder if maybe the problem is with on of these voltages coming in.
I bought the car used and noticed that the transmission was replaced about 50K miles ago with a brand new one from Chrysler.
Does anybody know the source of these switching voltages or have some experience with this problem?sjoefl01@cox.net[addsig]
