AMC-20 One-piece axle kit????

Well, everyone was right...it finally happened. Yes, of course, I spun a hub (then I broke the front drive shaft, but that's another story). Can anyone recommend a one piece kit? I've seen most of them...Crown, Superior, Moser, etc.... They're all priced within $50-$100 of each other. Which one is best, worst, best deal?

I know you're thinking put a D-44 on it instead, but not enough $$ right now.

Also, I'm running 33x12.50 with a 3.31 rear end (open). Are the single piece axles strong enough to lock the rear end?

Please help...it's my daily driver!

i think the superior are good one....and look for a set w/ rolled splines, and not cut splines[addsig]

I did the moser setup on my '85...these shafts were pretty tough until the right bearing moser gives you (timken) wore out real fast and broke up...i ended up losing the shaft as i took a right turn...as for the axles i highly recommend them...i did some serious roading with my locker and 31's without a problem...they held up real nice...if i could find the replacement bearings for this axle i'd put it right back in there...but for now i'm running off a spare axle i had with the old two piece shafts in it...at least til i can find a set of timkens or whatever and pack them extra good with grease...but it's almost impossible to find these without buying the whole kit again (the aftermarket axles are just a little bit wider then the factory ones so a replacement from a parts store or dealer won't work)...and o yea...the lifetime guarantee is also well worth it on these...obviously they don't cover the bearings but the axles are 100% covered. All i can say is i'd definetly go for these...but be sure those bearings are put in the right way...i had a guy do it at the time and i doubt he really packed em in. Good luck!-beefy[addsig]

I installed "Summer Brother" axles in my 82's mod 20, with an ARB air locker. No problems with is in 20+yrs of running all the tough trails in CA. now. Any one-peice axle you install in the mod 20 will be a huge improvement over stock.
