Anyone hitting the trails this weekend?

I got the Mighty YJ's booboos repaired, a new windshield and the TeraLow installed. It is ready for field testing.

I am planning on camping and doing the trails in the Buena Vista, Gunnison and Crested Butte areas. There are some amazing trails out that way.

Anyone else headed out this weekend?
 

Lqaborday...of course we are hitting the trails...doing that 212 mile trip down south and running Strike Ravine and running over to play at the rose garden.
Plenty of camp spots still open here guys...any takers?

Too bad Red is scared of Moab or I would invite him to go....heheheheheh
 
I've done Rose Garden Hill. And right after easy, easy Onion Creek! It was in February and we were alone. Simply a matter of panic, airing up and down, winching and praying...

Winching? About 10 - 12 times. Oh yeah, 8 to 10 inches of snow also.

It was interesting...

Too bad I have other plans...

Now in October, I am going to Moab again... (10/5 to 10/8 )
 

Hey utah......planning on getting to moab next april. Probably middle to late april. What kinda weather can we expect??

I told you to meet me in Hot Springs. I invited the whole board months ago and got no takers. I really think you are photochopping all those pics anyway. Bunch of web wheelers.
 
i'm going to a buddy's 21st birthday party this weekend, mostly muddy trails and mud holes i'll have pictures by monday or tuesday, I just got my jeep back together yesterday, I can't wait!
 
Some friends and the family are going "creek crawling" this weekend. Just down some dry creek beds around the county. Take a picnic lunch, a cooler of adult beverages and a tow strap or two. Nothing like a redneck good time!

Yep! It took that tree hit and probably saved me cost of the cage!

Not too hard to install and it really improved my welding skills. If you are thinking of one, make sure you tie the foot of the uprights (install new speakers so they'll never need servicing) to the frame underneath. I custom made the plates connecting the 2.

Add gussets everywhere - cost is minimal and it really strengthens everything!

I am sold on that cage now!

I have helped a friend install one and yes, they are very easy to install. He sold it about 2 weeks later:x but it did seem to "stiffen" the body up. For the price, I don't think you can beat 'em.

Btw, the Mighty YJ looks much better!
 
Doesn't it! Finished the passenger side front flare with turn indicatior and installed it today! It's finished!
 

I was totally planning on going up north to my property, do a little mudding, just get away... Unfortunately, gas went up, and traffic's horrible over Labor Day weekend on I-75 anyway... Maybe I'll get up there once this year before it gets cold...
 
Had a great time!

The TeraFlex TeraLow worked great! I didn't need the ARB lockers on any of the trails I took.

The trails were:
Redcone,
Radical Hill,
#5 to Montezuma,
Independence Pass,
Pearl Pass (some of it),
Taylor Pass,
Pearl Pass (the rest of it),
Schofield Pass,
The Devil's Punchbowl.

Ran some rough ones in Hot Springs. It was dry and dusty. Nearly laid my Jeep over on Ingrid's Revenge. Dented the hood and bent the windshield frame on Greg's Rock, but made it up both. It was a good time. Maybe some of my buddy's will send pics I can post.
