ax 15 swap from dakota

i got a 89 jeep yj 4.2 5 speed ax15 transmission and my synchro's are dead, would it be possible to take a ax15 transmission from a dakota and put it in my jeep and what all would i have to do to put my transfer case on the dakota transmission??

and what year and size engine dakota do i need to look for if its possible.

You want a Cherokee one. The Dakota came with one on the 2.5L and it's an upgrade for XJ and TJs with 4 cyl.
