Axle Help

Hello, I'm in the process of replacing front axle seals on my 2010 Jeep Unlimited Sport. The left axle had no guide rings or anything else and the right axle had the rings but I'm not sure what the other part is. I've circled the piece in yellow and any input would be appreciated. Thank You

Don't know much about your year jeep, but on a cj axle that would be what the axle bearing rides on (beaing race). its pressed on. all semi floating axles should have it.

I figured it out. It was part of the old seal. Thanks

Really? that flat piece with the yellow, rust looking line across it is part of the seal? Looked like the pressed on bearing race for axle bearing... OOOps never would have thought that was part of a seal. back to my corner now, lol

Just thought it looked like the spot where the rubber wore out and the spring rode from the seal

I was confused too. I thought it was a bearing race also but part of the seal pulled out with the axle.
