body repair panels

i just bought new side panels for my cj and my plan was to grind all the rust off. which is alot. put some rust stop on it then just weld the panels to the side. now i'm getting nervous becuase someone told me that i have to cut out the old ones. i could handle just placing the new ones on weld them grind here bondo there but cut my baby all up i don't know any ideas? :evil: [addsig]

that's bull...repair panels such as the ones quadratec.com sell...are made to slip over the old ones and to be welded or riveted in place...Now tell me...how would you pop-rivet a new panel in if there's nothing to rivet to??!?!?...hehe...by the way where'd you get yours...i was looking at quadratec but they're a little expensive...good luck![addsig]

they go over the original ones..........stopp the rust and pop rivit them on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go crazy with the rivits the more the marrier :lol: :lol: [addsig]
