Cant identify a part

Hi all-

I have a 2010 JK and there are two straps underneath, between the front and the wheels. They are made of the same tow strap material, but have regular plastic clips on them. What do they do?

Attach the parachute to it.

they might have gotten left on from when the jeep was transported to your dealership

Thats interesting, did you buy this Jeep used? It would seem you have something unique if not lol, I'm pretty curious what it is too, maybe ask the dealer if no one here can come up with an answer (or the previous owner if you didnt buy it new).

It was a rental. Amusing, I was actually half way home from buying it when I realized it didn't have power locks or windows, anything fancy. I just said... Oh well. No biggie. Less stuff to go wrong.

Anyway, I have no clue what it is, maybe clips to hold some kind of cover over it? I do like the idea of putting the parachute on it!

It's ok, klkb, I have no windows nor door locks at all.... I suppose jeeps " low maintenance" offsets my "high maintenance " ;-)

I don't even lock it unless I have to. I figure if I'm going to keep the top off then I might as well get used to keeping nothing in it. It's strange because my ADHD self lived out of the Sequoia! There was always something in there that I needed. Kind of like Mr. Whoopee's closet.

Those don't look factory. Look to me like they would hold the swaybar up when swaybar disconnect endlinks are used.

I thought about that too, but dont JKs have the 'auto-disconnect' thing that breaks the sway-bar connection internaly ?

I guess they probably are some homemade version of swaybar straps...
With no power windows/ locks I suppose you get no power sway bar disconnect either;-)
Here's a picture of some JK disconnect package by Superlift ... Their straps have D rings but I could see the frugal Jeeper using ones with the plastic ends;-)

Only on the Rubicon models.

To me it looks lke it's there to keep that diode from swinging back and forth. It looks like that jeep has an aftermarket HID lights. Definitely not a factory setup.

My guess is that they used to hold a Bra on the front of the jeep
