Where can I find capacities for oil, water. gas, gear oil, etc.? I read that the 1988 YJ holds 15 gallons of gas.......yesterday I put over 18 gallons in the tank....think the local needs his pumps checked, or are there larger tanks?

The 2.5L YJ holds 15 gallons, and in '88 the 20gal tank was an option on the 4.2L YJ. Take a look at your gas tank skid in relation to the rear shackles. If the space between the skid and the shackle where the exhaust exits is the same as on the opposite side of the skid, you have the 15gal tank. If the opposite side of the skid extends all the way to the shackle you have the 20gal tank. This does not apply to '91-'95 YJ's.
