If you did not know, the weather aroung new england, especially boston has been crap! last week my poor old clutch just had enough so I desided to treat the smurf-dive (my YJ) to a new one. I would have done it my self, but 1/2 of my garage has a 41 plymouth in it, and the other 1/2 has my motorcycle's, furniture, tools and all sorts of stuff (moving soon) And it was just too damn cold outside to do it myself. I got smurf-dive home on tuesday, yesterday I got this little vibration from the drivetrain. I figured that a u-joint went. So I left work early yesterday, (and wed. is the only day I don't work my second job) went to NAPA picked up two sets of u-joints. (one to keep for trail use. get under my YJ and look at the pinion u-joint. The a$$ that put my clutch in never tightened up the driveshaft. The spider was slopping aroung in the yoke! with no more than a 1/4 turn, I took all four bolts right out. :-x Well I called the place were the work was done, b*tched and complained for about 20 minutes. To make a already long story shorter, The shop is giving me a $100 refund for my troubles and reimbursing me for the u-joints $18.00 per set. Easiest $136 dollars I ever made.[addsig]

well, i'd say "good", but i think that making that 136 was by putting much more at stake...[addsig]

Thank God I desided to fix them now and not wait till the weekend. last ting I want is my drive shaft slapping the floorboards a couple of times then getting thrown out of the slip yoke and loosing much needed transmission fluid.[addsig]

i've shot a driveshaft off my rear yoke before... then the jeep got REALLY loud when the shaft knocked the case off my muffler[addsig]
