Hello,
Well I pulled off the valve cover today only to reveal the 4 years of abuse my sister in law subjected this jeep to by changing the oil rarely. I have only seen a few other motors in my life this sludged up. I am surprised it had any oil pressure at all. When I pulled the valve cover off, it was like pulling a mold off a cake. Chunks of deposit all the way up to the top of the rocker arms. No wonder the oil was blowing into the breather, that was the only clear path out and even it was clogged badly. The rear CCV that goes to the intake manifold was completely clogged up. The motor will be completely flushed out ( it will take a lot of flushing ) tomorrow night and the valve cover will go to the local machine shop for a complete hot wash. I am sure some of you have seen something like this before. As I said the jeep was given to us by my father in law so I can't really gripe. The jeep looks great but just needs some care. If I have to put another motor in it eventually, it would be worth it. Thanks for the advice some of you have given, it has been very helpful. I should have taken a picture and posted it for you to see. What a mess. The upside, at least I know why the oil was going into the breather. Still have to get that radiator installed also. I will keep everyone posted on how it goes. Good nite.
