I know jeeps are rough rides but does anyone have any Ideas on how to keep cd's from skipping. I have a kenwood 10 disc cd player mounted under the passenger seat and every bump it skips? :-x [addsig]

Bad news, Your changer is not working properly. It might need to be replaced if it skips with raod bumps. If it skips just for the hell of it (no bump) take the changer to where you bought it and have them send it out for a good cleaning. DO NOT USE A CD CLEANER (the cd's with the little brushes the "clean the lens") These will just complicate your situation.[addsig]

When I went to replace my cd/radio that went dead I asked around at a few shops, They all sasid the same thing " All cds will skip in a jeep but a Kenwood will skip the least" this was said even by a shop that didn't sell kenwoods. sound like its not mounted tight or its a bad deck.[addsig]

I run a pioneer premier cd deck and changer and I don't think they have ever skipped.
I am telling you, try to get it cleaned. When I was an installer we had people come in to th shop all the time saying that the changer was skipping,it got to the point that we sent all changers out to be cleaned and this fixed about 95% of them (this obviously was after we ruled any other problems out!)[addsig]

hmm... yeah, my JVC head unit doesn't skip unless i rail a huge bump (like 3" plus) at speeds exceeding 20mph... my suspension (3" lift) just soaks everything up! and... i had it playing at paragon adventure park when i went with pasmoke back in december, it didn't skip ONCE!

you're looking at a changer that needs service/replacement.

if it needs to be mounted differently, you might need to look into mounting it to something with some give/spring.
