So when I try to drive with my head lights on they will eventually start to flash. Most of the time it is when I start to use my blinkers but other times they just flash. Also, when I only have the smaller light just on they won't flash but if I have the big ones on then when those start to flash ill push tw switch in one click so just the little ones are on and then those will stay on for a while, then start to flash. I've changed both switches and checked the grounds. What else could I do?

Have you tried a new flasher? I had this same issue when I was a teenager but cant for the life of me remember what it was. Try unpluging your headlights and looking at the connector, a lot of times there will be some blueish looking stuff in the connector (oxidation) and can cause all sorts of problems. Clean it out if you see any of that. hopfully someone as had this happen recently and can be more help.

Sounds to me like you may still have a ground problem. Run a wire from yourr ground for the headlights directly to the ground terminal on your battery and leave it there for a few days to check it.

Hmmm, I had this same symptom on 'Easy Bake' my '81 Ford black panel van. This happened immediately after installing Hella headlight shells and high wattage H4 bulbs. The wimpy 16 gauge headlight wiring in this old van couldn't handle the amperage, so power came through in spurts. I installed a 40 amp relay, one for each headlight and upgraded the wiring with new sockets and 10 gauge wiring, and Man! What a difference in light on the road! (Properly aimed, mind you).
