clutch release problem

'89 wrangler w/ 6 cyl & 5 speed puegot. installed new clutch disc, press plate, slave and master cyl. clutch releases only when pushed all the way to the floorboard. bled system numerous times but cant get release at higher pedal. is it air or mechanical problem? what is best way to bleed system?[addsig]

it still sounds like there's air in there. or something could have been put in wrong. Sorry i'm not much help here... but i sure do hope you get it straightened out[addsig]

i don't have the original pushrod anymore,instead i made one that is adjustable.

maybe you nshould make one to.

seems to me your clutch does not release all the way but when released it has enough play to adjust.

be carefull not to adjust wrong because that would make your plates slip when released......not good..

just fool around a bit,maybe you can test using a long bolt as pushrod.....
