So I decided to do a compression test yesterday on the 327, (10:1 compression if it matters). I have never done one before so im looking to you guys for advice on the numbers. As I understand it, more than a 30% fluctuation between cylinders is telling you its getting wore out and needs a rebuild, or valve job? as I have heard most common compression loss is a valve not sealing?
I didn't get to complete the test as my gauge broke, getting a new one and will finish the test. This is what I have so far.
D is dry test, W is wet.
cylinder
1- D 100
W 135
2 no test
3 D 130
W 155
4 no test
5 D 100
W 125
6 no test
7 D 120
W gauge broke
8 no test
Im not liking the numbers im seeing.. What do you guys think of them? ill get a new gauge and finish the test asap.
