crank position sensor on yj

Ive been reading posts and watching you tube videos, about the crank position sensor, and so I went out to see where mine was thinking that was giving me my stalling issues. well I located the wire harness on the side of the block and followed the wires down next to the exhaust manifold. yep , the plastic wire protector was all melted. but the wires werent. I think there was a little bare wire there, enough to shut it down from time to time. well, more often then most. I put new conveluted wire tubing on the wire to sheild it from the elements, and then zip tied the wire out of the way. started it up and took it out for a bumpy run. so far so good. keeping my fingers crossed. I know im going to replace that sensor, but in the next few weeks. and from what i've seen, looks to be a pain in the arse... any body done this on a 94 yj??

It's not too bad, either use a lot of socket extensions from below, or remove the crossmember and lower the transfer case for more room to work.

My CPS wires are melted but it's not affecting performance.
