Dana 30

I pulled my carrier out of my dana 30 axle today to regear and came accross a part that is not listed in my factory service manual, and the parts dealer has no idea what it is. On both sides of the carrier is a large O-ring? orange in color. It is between the drivers side oil seal and the carrier bearing. Same location right side. Did a internet search also and did not find anything. Anyone ever see these before?

There is a sealer applied on the axle tube before it is slid in. It could be be the excess. ???? That's all I can think of.

Ya that's just excess sealant. Nothin to worry bout unless your tubes are leaking.
