Okay so I just lifted my 2008 jk sahara 3.5 inches and threw on a set of 35 inch tires. My first drive and actually not too bad of a power loss, but still thinking of doing the gears. I have 3.73 gears right now. One mechanic friend told me in order to go to something lower I'd have to change out the carrier. Another said I won't. Who's right and does it matter how low I go? Say to 4.11 or 4.56?

Going from 3.73 to 4.10 or 4.56 you will have to change your carrier. the last gear you can run currently is 3.93 or something. Not a great gain of power to cost ratio there. With 35 inch tires I would look at 4.56 to regain the power as a daily driver.
