Does anyone know axles real well?

I've got a 93 ZJ and I'm wanting to swap axles in order to get rid of the drum brakes I've got. It would be good to find a locker of some kind too. But anywho during my search there seems to be no disc equipped Dana 35c's with a 3.73 gear ratio. Could it be that when they went to disc brakes they also decided that 3.55's were better gears? And if it comes to it, will I be able to swap my gears into another without complications?

Find a '95+ Ford 8.8 from an Explorer, they are plentiful with 3.73 gears and a limited slip. Just check the tag for 3L73, add a bracket kit, and there you go.

Sounds good,, where might I find this bracket kit? I assume there's welding involved. I'll start checking for the axles.

Yes, welding involved, and the bracket kits run $200-$300.

You can also swap disc brakes onto the D35

I really like the idea of getting the limited slip outof the deal, but I dunno if a 700 or so price tag is doable. I might do the disc conversion for now and go for the limted slip later.
