Electric choke

Hey everyone,

The other day my electric choke on my 1989 yj 4.2 busted and need to replace it, but can't find where to get one, anyone have any ideas?

Check with Morris 4X4 or Quadratec....... But you will need to know what type of carb it is.

Yeah it's a Carter 2 barrel, those sites were the first two I checked but can't seem to find it on either one... I didn't think they were a hard to come by part

I know this will sound crazy, but did you check Auto Zone? They do have some hard to find parts?

I know this is not the right forum, but I see your Cummins Logo......... What do you have? I have a 2007 Dodge 2500 with every AFE after market part on it..... I love that thing! Currently around 600 hp at 550 ftpds of torque! And 23 MPG highway to boot. Pulls my 13000 lbs fifth wheel trailer like a toy wagon.

I'm wondering if the chokes are shared with all models of Carter carbs, I've seen a few AFB's amongst other Carters and recognized (externally at least) they were similar to my AFB on 'Betty'
If this is so, maybe a trip to the boneyard might be in order. A digital photo on your phone if/when you go will help in identifying what's available. Food for thought.
