extended idle switch

i have a book on just the 96 jeep cherokee that is at least 800 pages. it is a service manual. it says in the book that it is used to raise the engine idle speed to approximately 1000 rpm when the shiter isin either the park or neutral position. "it is a rocker-type 2-wire switch that is mounted to the instrument panel. this switch will supply a ground circuit to the powertrain control module" that is what is says in the book. i'm just curious if there is anyway that i could possible find one some how. it was only available on police pacakage so does that make it illegal for someone like me to have it. thanks for the 2 that responded i hope that this makes it a little bit clearer[addsig]

You might be able to go to the dealer and see what they have. If Jeep makes a police package Cherokee, Then it should be available from Jeep. I'm not sure if Jeep themselves actually make the package, or if they ship them off to a contractor for the mods. And just a note as a moderator.... You should have continued this on your previous thread. Just a thought for next time.
