finally getting a chance to do my t case chain

im actually in the process right now...but im kinda stuck...
so i was wondering if you guys could help me.
I'm trying to pull the thing apart but i cant. there seems to be some kind of sealant that might be preventing me from doing this or something.
i dont know which piece to pull off first.
i know im not giving you the best picture of what im doing but its the best i can do.
but anyway if someone could be so kind and help me out here. give me some tips
things ill need (i have snap ring pliers already)
which piece to take off first you know stuff like that...
thank you in advanced if you guys do decide to give a little insight on this thing.

PS. if some could get back to me as soon as possible im trying to get this thing on the road this weekend

Tell us more about the jeep or the model of transfer case. Definitely need the year.

Watch for split rings on the mainshaft as you disassemble, they will keep parts from separating. The two case halves do have RTV sealant between the two. There are 2 slots between the case halves where you insert a screwdriver blade and pry them apart.
