Front Driveshaft Pickle?

Ok, so I'm installing a new (rebuilt) front differential / axle housing on my CJ. The existing driveshaft will not extend or colapse. Like it's frozen in the length it was after removal. Does anyone know any tricks to free it up?
I have tried hitting with a hammer, it still does not move either in or out.

Take out the zerk fitting and pull. Should free right up.

Well, I think'll be buying a new front driveshaft! I tried the zerk removal and heated up the lower end. Some 27 year old grease and rusty water came out. Tried using the press to move it forward, which it did slightly after snapping 2 bolts off of the press base! It ain't coming off......
