Gear ratio

I have a 97 TJ. Does anyone know the stock gear ratio that was installed in the front and rear differential??

Which drivetrain do you have?

Generally speaking,
2.5L auto is 3.73 gears
2.5L manual is 4.10 gears
4.0L manual is 3.07 gears
4.0L auto is 3.73 gears

I have the 4.0 manual. Is that pretty much standard ratios for all TJ's??

I am told that the 97 TJ's with the towing package and 30'' tires came with 3.55's. Does that sound accurate??

Mine had 308. I have a man 4.0. I upgraded with 410 front and rear. I've seen the 308 push a 35in tire.

My 98 wrangler had 3.73 stock, and it was the manual 4.0. A good way to know for sure is to check the front & rear diff covers to see if it has a tag that will tell you what the ratio is.
