guages, airbag light!?!?!?

I was driving home from work yesterday and my Speedo and Tach dropped to zero, and my "airbag" light came on. Nothing else was wrong that I could tell. I slapped the top of the dash and the guages came back and the airbag light went out.

It happened again on the way to work this morning. Again, came right back on with a little "encouragement" from an angry TC slap on the dash!

Didn't happen tonight though

Anybody ever experienced, heard of this happening?

sounds like a loose connection to me.....

It's a loose BUS connection where the guage cluster harness plugs into the jeeps wiring harness. Take the dash apart and bend each connector so it makes more solid contact (carefully). Use dialectic grease in the connection and secure it tightly together with zip ties.

Or do like I did and ignore it, and keep whacking the dash when it acts up.

I had this happen in a Buick once. The wiring harness had vibrated against something under the dash and started to short. I hope that is not your problem, but it does sound like a loose connection or a short. Get it taken care of because who knows what will happen if the wires controlling the air bag get screwed up.
