So we pulled the ax15 trans in the 99 4.0 TJ and disassembled it using the detailed videos on YouTube and several different parts manuals.
I put back together, twice and can't get the hole in the 1-2 fork to line up with the tapped hole in the 1-2 shift rail.
so we took it apart and reassembled it with the groove for the fork to the rear, the same way it was when it would not line up the first time.
then we got frustrated or maybe it was from working in the hot sun and tried to push the thrust washer over the retaining pin, mangling the pin and cracking the thrust washer.
so here are my two questions
1. Can someone please confirm the groove for fork goes forward or away from the bearing
2. Can someone supply a part number and vendor for the thrust washer and pin?
