help!! :(

i have a '93 yj. im 17 and im hard headed. k now that thats out of the way, i broke a u joint, ball joint and part of the outer axle and inner axle. i got the joints i just need the inner and outer axle pieces for a dana 30. please let me know if you have any. im close to the fayetteville/peachtree city area.

They're very common in junkyards, just look at all the XJ's and pull them from there. Stick with '95+ for larger stronger ujoints in the shafts.

i just want to get it fixed right now cause its my daily driver, ill start upgrading later when i have a different daily driver

Well, the point is that you have to replace them anyway and you can get slightly stronger parts readily available from your local junkyard (most likely), so why *wouldn't* you upgrade in this case?

main reason being that i dont have money to upgrade it yet, i only have enough to fix it. i will upgrade it eventually but not yet. i just need it fixed so i can drive to school and quit bothering my mom when i need a ride

Ok, I'll try one more time...I don't mean any offense, I just want to make sure you get the point.

Let's say for example you go to your local junkyard and they have a YJ identical to yours and they also have a '95+ XJ sitting next to it. You can pull the axles/ball joint out of either vehicle.

Most of the junkyards around here you either pay by weight or by what the part is. Either way you would likely pay almost (if not exactly) the same price for the parts from either vehicle. The only difference is if you pull the parts from the XJ you will end up with slightly upgraded parts.

So again, why wouldn't you get the upgraded parts in this instance? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with you buying the YJ parts if that's what you want, I just want to make sure you understand that BH's suggestion won't cost you any extra money, that's all.

well yea if they have the bigger u joints and axles ill go that way. i understand what your saying and no offense taken. im just a hard headed 17 year old that misses drivin my jeep, so im lookin for the fastest fix. if i come across the bigger stuff ill get it.
