how do I get the windshield down???

new wheels

no but It will look a little odd it you leave the roll bar on. Other than that just remove some screws and tie it down. At least that's how it is on my YJ what is your CJ/YJ/TJ?

I took all 5 doors off of my XJ to clean out a spilled BBQ grill once. That was a lot of fun at 75 mph.

I think that the Wranglers are the only Jeeps that allow for the front windshield to go down without a sawsall.

there is a large black Torx bolt that stands out on each side of the TJ take that out and take off the bars that go from the main roll-bar to the windshield. MAKE SURE you do not loosen any bolts other than those connecting to the Roll bar and the Windshield. There is a bolt or 2 about 2" infront of the roll bar, this is a factory adjustment that keeps the windshield at the correc tangle (DO NOT TOUCH THIS BOLT) From there you should be able to drop your windshield and strap it down with the strap provided.

I know but YJ's and TJ's and Cj's are all different...so that is why I was asking........

you can remove the roll bar adjustment bolts if you mark where they came from... but if it does not go back in the exact setting that it was taken off from... your doors will not close right, you will allow water in, you will lose heat in the winter, your top will not fit right, and many other problems that come from not aligning the windshield back properly... if you do it right, it works fine... besides... if you don't take it out... you will have two poking rams sticking out the front of the rollbar..

a good way to make sure it goes back right, is to see where the windsheild frame sits in comparison to the front of the doors... make sure it flips back the the EXACT same spot

Hey if you do want the windshield down, but don't like the look of the roll bar just hangin there, Or don't want to deal with the problems my friend snitty tells us about, Heres what ya do!

-Take a brick Preferable red but the darker brown will also work.
-stand about three feet away from the jeep, four feet is just way too much!
-strategically throw the brick through the windshield
-Clean up the glass
-when done acall insurance company and get new windshield for free
-CAUTION-
Try to avoid having the brick make contact with the jeeps paint! don't want to ruin it!

This will work with YJ's, XJ's, ZJ's, TJ's and some CJ's

HEHE

Johnny

PS
I am just joking I am in now way serious, that is insurance fraud.

you can take the bars off without taking off the adjustment bolts. At least you can according to my Video and manual.
