boomerang shcakles!!!! yaa baby, its my bag, ha ha ha.

the stock ones were bent when i got this jeep so i just straightened them out and put them back on. i was having some weird clunking a few months ago so i put new poly bushings in but the ride was not horribly smooth. i read something recently about the springs not getting enough travel on stock shackles and hitting stuff, like bumpers and stuff. so i figured i would put some boomerang shackles on to give them a bit more room to flex on the ride.

here it is with the shackles, all cool and lifted. they are 5/8 longer than stock and cut from 3/8 plate. (if i had armor made from this plate mail, a horse would never be able to carry me and no one would ever be able to hurt me, this stuff is thick)

here is prior, on stockers

heck ya, its looking cooler then normal now. tons of chicks are digging it even more now, ha ha ha.

my wife laughed on the last one and says "oh really??" :shades:

oh yes, they are 25 bucks an axle from gpfabrication on ebay. no hardware included because i don;t like getting 25 bucks worth of shackles and then paying 75 or 100 for some bolts.

The front shackles are upside down. Reversing them allows them to act as an anti-kickback shackle, preventing the shackle from inverting rearward against the frame. Really only an issue if you wheel the Jeep.

If you want a little better stance while keeping the same suspension ride, consider picking up a used pair of front springs and making your own AAL kit (add-a-leaf). Cut the spring eyes off and use the top two leaves of each pack, placing one leaf in each of your stock spring packs. Adds 1.5" of lift with no other mods required.

I wondered if I had them on right, thanks.

I plan on doing the aal that you speak of next. :)

Is it supposed to be bolts up on both sides? If so, the rear is backward too
