Info on what broke on my steering

I hit a huge bump the other night and my jeep is stuck turning right. I was just wondering what this is called that cracked in half for my steering to be doing this. Here are the pictures. Any help is much appreciated. image.jpegimage.jpeg

Ooooooo. Ouch that is your steering gearbox output shaft. I would just replace the entire gearbox.

Look at your other steering components drag link(is bent), tie rod and all tie rod ends for bending cracking or wear.

That bump looks like it was tall enough to reach your steering box. I don't think that still classified as a bump. Like calling pikes peak a hill or mound. Or the Grand Canyon a ravine .

Dude ! What are the odds that the contact was placed solely on the sector shaft Or pitman arm and didn't cream the radiator or steering linkage or anywhere else ! As previously posted , a full inspection is warranted and advised ! YO ! I couldn't get that lucky on a bet ! But seriously , sorry for the mishap , just hope nothing more than the box is trashed . I would definately replace the box since the shot to break the sector shaft via the pitman arm could have caused a small crack up the side of the box that has not yet grown under stress from steering but will soon surface as puddles of fluid and steering pump groaning . Seen this happen to an F350 once . Yeah , that qualified me to volunteer to swap it

Looking closer the drag link is bent forward. Were you backing off something when whe vehicle dropped breaking the steering box shaft? Or did you try to drive forward after it broke.

Dude, that is one hard hit. bet you couldn't do that again if you tried, lol. as others have mentioned, just get a new box.

I'd like to hear the long version of what happened.
