Just a hello to all. i am fresh meat into the forum. I have just purchased my third-and hopefully final-Jeep. It is a CJ-8 and have brought it from Delaware to California. I am looking forward to learning from everyone here as i am a mechanical delinquent. Thats it, hello and talk to y'all soon.

thanks for the warm welcome. This is the one jeep i have always wanted, dont know why and dont need to. the drive was brutal and the auto shop just delivered more brutal news. rear axle needs a rebuild and the front suspension has various issues. good news is that in true jeep fashion it got me home. let the money pit begin. 17k purchase and approx 3k in initial repairs...driving my cj topless in california with the kids priceless. i will try and do the pic thing, as soon as i can afford a camera, haha.

Welcome here to Jeepz. Good. Replace that AMC 20 with a Dana 44 or, get the Premier solid axles and weld up the tubes to the Diff. case and rock on....

Hell yeah.
Welcome, sounds like a fun trip. You definitely made a memorie, good luck with it. The guy I bought my CJ-5 from had a Scrambler project also. It was just too far gone and it takes alot for me to say that. His goats had been sleeping in it and under it. I think they'd finally give up on it too! Lookin' forward to the pics of yours, welcome to the site.
