Is a 4.0 a 4.0?

I was wondering if there is anyone out there that would be able to answer a recent question of mine. Is it possible for a bell housing from a 95 YJ (AX15) mounts to a 01 TJ? Both motors are 4.0's. My brother was curious about doing away with his automatic transmission and I told him I would ask here. Obviously all the inners would need to be swapped over too. Clutch, flywheel etc.

Yes the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same.

Pay attention to pilot bearing diameters and transfer case input spline length and count.
