is sye needed?

Hi everybody! 05 tj, when I put my lift on (4" suspension) that comes with a transfer case lowering kit, do I need a new driveshaft and sye? If possible I would like to use factory my factory driveshaft, and not worry about sye till later. I've read that its poss that u will get a vibration without sye, so if that happens, I know I need it. Thanks for any input!

You can get away without it. Iv'e been running mine without a sye for over three years. I haven't noticed any vibrations, but I do have plans for one in the future.

You use either the included transfer case drop OR a SYE and CV driveshaft, not both.

Cool, right. I don't think I worded that right! Lol. So if I have the transfer case drop that comes w the kit, I use the factory driveshaft correct? Then when I get the sye, and cv driveshaft, I remove the transfer case drop... prob giving alittte more clearance? Thanks!

Correct.

The only negative about using the transfer case drop is that you lose ground clearance which takes away from the benefits of installing the lift.

I've never understood this statement. Sure you lose an inch of breakover clearance, but you gained 4" (lift) and 3" (33" tires are 6" taller than most stock tires) for a total of 7" improvement. I think you can spare an inch until the time is right for a SYE.

You're right, there's nothing wrong with running the t-case drop, I'm just sayin' the SYE would be better.
