I'm not sure what brand would I be better off with a factory unit or weld this one up

And I was wondering how much lift can I use before I have to use a sye kit as you can tell I don't know crap about jeeps I'm a chevy convert

I would not weld it; I doubt it would hold up in the long term. As for the lift, I am not sure on TJ's (I have a YJ).

I welded my previous ones and they are still going, about 6 years later. I used a 220 lincoln stick welder and that fixed it right up. This was on a 95 cherokee we used to own.

That's kinda off topic, but 4 inchs would be the max, and that's with a 1 inch transfer case drop.

Sorry I got off topic have so many ? Everything so different on this jeep than my old truck thanks for the imput 3or4 inch is all I was really looking to go just looking to get a set of 33s on it
