Key stuck in ignition

Hey y'all seek if anyone came across a problem with a cj7 1985 my key is stuck in ignition and turns on the jeep and starts right off but won't come out when I shut it off. I've tried several times and had many people try too. Don't know if there is a ignition switch that might have gone bad and locks it up or something. Anyone have an ideas id appreciate the help. Thanks!

I used to have a 1990 xj that was recalled for the brake/transmission interlock. The dealer adjusted the cable wrong and when I got home the key wouldn't come out because the shifter wasn't fully in park ..... might be something to check if you have an automatic.
